We have been retained to find a Staff Accountant! This role will play a crucial part in managing financial records, including accounts payable (AP), credit management, sales tax filings, fixed asset management, payroll support, bank reconciliation, customer rebate reports, balance sheet account analysis, preparation of 1099s and assisting with audits. This person will oversee the Accounts Payable Staff.Summary:Accounts Payable Support: Assist in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate record-keeping.Credit Management: Support the credit department in managing past dues and credit limits, ensuring the company's credit policies are upheld.Sales Tax: Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.Fixed Asset Management: Responsible for recording and tracking long-term assets over their entire lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.Payroll Support: After payroll is processed, upload the necessary payroll files to the appropriate systems or financial institutions.Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliation to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the company's books.Customer Rebate Reports: Compile monthly rebate reports from brokers and customers, calculate rebates owed, and ensure accurate and timely payments.Balance Sheet Account Analysis: Conduct monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting. Identify and investigate any discrepancies.Preparation of 1099s annually.Assisting with Audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and answering inquiries.Supervises Accounts Payable Staff.Experience:Bachelor s Degree in Accounting.A minimum of five years of accounting experience coming from the manufacturing industry.Knowledge of GAAP principles with an emphasis on maintaining general ledger transactions for senior management.ERP system experience (Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus.)Supervisory experience a plus.
