Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager (38576)

Our client is a large, publicly traded services company that is currently looking for a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to join their team! This role is open due to an internal promotion. Lots of opportunities to move and grow internally, the company offers fully remote work arrangements and unlimited PTO!

Responsibilities:

• The Technical Accounting & External Reporting Manager will manage the preparation of the Company's financial statements, note disclosures and MD&A for both annual and quarterly reporting to the SEC in accordance with US GAAP standards and SEC regulations.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums to support the financial accounting and reporting treatment for new, material, complex and/or unusual transactions or arrangements.
• Manage complex accounting areas such as pensions, revenue recognition, and others.
• Provide consultation and execution support to various functional areas on complex events and transactions.
• Interact with external auditors on technical accounting issues and assist in the support of all annual audits and quarterly reviews.
• Monitor, assess, and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the Company.
• Manage and support the development of direct and indirect reports through coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities.
• Actively participate in strategic projects related to capital structure activity, acquisitions and divestitures, and other corporate initiatives.
• The Technical Accounting & External Reporting Manager will perform other duties and work on special projects as needed. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required.
  • 5+ years' of progressive accounting experience. Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience highlyy preferred.
  • 1+ years of management experience required.
  • Detailed knowledge of US GAAP standards and SEC reporting, financial statements, internal controls and SOX requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. Experience with large, integrated financial management/accounting systems.
