Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. The
Mechanical Designer will work under the direction of the Design
Engineer to design and develop a broad spectrum of engineering
devices to develop or improve the product lines. This will include
working with metal fabrications, hydraulics, mechanical drive
systems, pneumatics, pressurized water systems, and electrical
systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Create, develop, and maintain
large assembly models, detailed component drawings, and complex
assembly drawings in SolidWorks. Create and maintain bills of
materials in SolidWorks and ERP. Create and maintain engineering
documentation using standard engineering procedures. Acquire
component specification documents and create specification
documentations. Participate in the ECO process and perform any
related changes and essential documentation. Collaborate with
material and production personnel and vendors to produce designs
that minimize labor and overall cost. Provide technical support for
production and service to help troubleshoot problems as needed.
Participate in process improvement projects to continually improve
business practices. Complete special projects as assigned. Will be
working in office and manufacturing shop with occasional travel to
suppliers and customer worksites (travel typically less than 5%).
Desired Skills: Ability to develop and detail 2D & 3D designs of
complex systems. High organizational skills & hands-on attitude and
ability. Above average mechanical aptitude. The ability to
self-motivate to meet project deadlines. Excellent written and
verbal communication skills. Disposition to work toward continuous
design improvement. Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs. and climb
a ladder. Education and Experience Minimum 2-year degree in
mechanical design. 2-5 years of relevant machine design experience.
Experience with SolidWorks Advanced Assembly, Sheet Metal,
Routings, and Drawings. Experience with SolidWorks Enterprise
Product Data Management (EPDM) is preferred. For additional
