Job Description Job Description Field Service Technician – CNC Equipment (Remote) Overview We’re hiring a Field Service Technician with hands-on experience supporting CNC machine tools, preferably grinders and/or lathes. This is a remote, regional role covering either the Southeast or Midwest, focused on installation, troubleshooting, and long-term customer support of CNC equipment. If you’re mechanically sharp, electrically confident, comfortable on the road, and enjoy being the go-to expert for customers, this role is built for you. Key Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and service CNC machine tools at customer sites Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Provide on-site and remote technical support for warranty and non-warranty service Train customers on machine operation, maintenance, and best practices Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and special options Maintain clear communication with customers until issues are fully resolved Document service activities and collaborate with internal engineering and service teams Share technical knowledge and support other field service technicians as needed Travel requirement: 85% travel, including frequent overnight stays Required Experience & Skills Minimum 2 years of troubleshooting and repair experience (machine tools preferred) Hands-on experience working with CNC equipment Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial control systems Understanding of machine tool design, operation, and service practices Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset Education Preferred: Associate’s degree (AAS) in Electronic Technology Machine Tool Technology Mechatronics or a related technical field Equivalent education and hands-on experience will be considered Location Requirements Candidates must be based in one of the following regions: Southeast: AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV Midwest: OH, MI, IN, IL, WI Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay: $36–$40/hr (based on experience, education, and CNC background) Company-provided vehicle, phone, and computer Comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) Paid vacation and holidays Long-term disability Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
