of Connectional Relations Manager in our Church Relations

in helping the department strengthen or establish mutually
beneficial relationships between Wespath and United Methodist and
other organizations, groups, leaders and other key individuals, and
governing bodies. In addition, in this role you will be responsible
for coordinating Wespath's efforts to achieve successful outcomes
at General Conference (or future legislative bodies such as

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Familiarity with the polity,
structure, and governance of the United Methodist Church.
Experience leading or managing teams
of co-workers or volunteers in the successful accomplishment of
projects or initiatives.
Experience representing one's
organization to clients, partners, and other external audiences via
written communications, presentations to large or small groups, and
person-to-person conversations.
Knowledge and experience with
Microsoft Office or similar products, including fundamental Excel
spreadsheet functions, Word documents, and Outlook email.
Familiarity with and use of
videoconferencing applications such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom,
and with digital communications.
Willingness and ability to travel to
meetings and events, as needed or requested, including weekend
travel at times and possibly including occasional international
travel. The travel requirement could reach or exceed 25-30% of time
during months of peak external activities, but overall is expected
to be about 10-15% or less over the entire year. Preferred
Requirements/Qualifications:
Knowledge of employee benefit plans,
especially pension and retirement plans, and basic financial
planning concepts.
Experience working in church-related
or non-profit organizations, especially in the United Methodist
connectional structure.
Work, volunteer, or life experience
with diverse communities and cultures.
Ability to converse in French or
Portuguese is a plus.
