Regional Area Director - Chess Education & Instructor Management
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid: On-Site & Remote)
Full-Time - 40 Hours/Week
Salary: $58,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience) + performance-based bonuses
Chess Wizards is seeking a passionate and results-driven Regional Area Director to oversee instructor coordination, training, and program quality initiatives in the Chicago area.
This hybrid role offers flexibility with a mix of remote work and on-site school visits, ideal for someone who enjoys strategic planning and hands-on engagement.
What You'll Do:

• Recruit, hire, and train new chess instructors to ensure high-quality teaching.
  
• Schedule and coordinate instructor assignments for smooth program operations.
  
• Conduct classroom visits for training, evaluation, and professional development.
  
• Step in as a visiting or substitute instructor when needed.
  
• Build strong relationships with schools and partners to support growth.
  
• Address client concerns, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
  
• Lead coaching calls, instructor roundtables, and performance check-ins.
  
  What We're Looking For:
  
  
• At least 1 year of leadership experience in an educational setting.
  
• Strong understanding of chess principles.
  
• Excellent communication and people skills to motivate instructors, students, and partners.
  
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt to changing needs.
  
• Reliable home office setup (high-speed internet, computer, email, Skype).
  
• Ability to travel within a 30-mile radius of Chicago.
  
• Availability in the mornings, with occasional evening flexibility.
  
• Must meet all state requirements for educational workers before start date.
