Job SummaryThe Compliance and Accreditation Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the full lifecycle of accreditation and compliance activities within UChicago Student Wellness, with all applicable state, federal, and accreditation standards. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures, coordinating staff training on compliance matters, preparing for audits and accreditation site visits, ensuring continuous organizational compliance with established standards, and embedding accreditation readiness into the daily operations of the organization.
This role requires strong project management expertise, in-depth understanding of accreditation standards, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders across departments. The Compliance and Accreditation Manager serves as the central coordinator for all accreditation-related initiatives and acts as the liaison with accrediting bodies, ensuring that all processes, documentation, and practices align with current guidelines.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and adept at managing complex, deadline-driven projects in a collaborative and evolving healthcare environment.Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and manage all aspects of the accreditation and reaccreditation processes from initiation to completion.
  • Develop and manage detailed project timelines and task assignments to ensure survey readiness.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the accrediting organization, coordinating communications, survey logistics, and follow-up requirements.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and protocols are aligned with accreditation standards and are reviewed regularly for accuracy and relevance.
  • Track and manage follow-up plans post-survey to ensure continued compliance.
  • Lead or support additional accreditation-related projects that promote alignment with evolving standards, operational efficiency, and quality improvement across departments.
  • Manage policy management software system, including content, access, and contracting.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and implement systems for continual readiness.
  • Conduct internal assessments, gap analyses, and mock surveys to proactively identify areas of improvement.
  • Maintain a centralized and organized documentation system that supports compliance tracking.
  • Guide departments in interpreting accreditation standards and integrating them into day-to-day workflows.
  • Educate and support staff on accreditation requirements, updates, and best practices. Maintain training records and track mandatory compliance education for staff.
  • Support cross-department compliance initiatives.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives across Student Wellness Services.
  • Assist in risk identification, incident tracking, and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain organized compliance documentation, reports, and files, including required licensure and credentialing materials.
  • Coordinate with medical, mental health, health promotion, and administrative units to support accreditation readiness.
  • Participate in accreditation and other meetings, as needed. Serve as a liaison to the Governing Body and contribute to strategic planning related to accreditation and compliance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance within Student Wellness.
  • Collaborate on and help drive initiatives that enhance compliance infrastructure and performance in support of accreditation standards.
  • Plans and executes internal and external audits and activities to support regulatory agency inspections.
  • Prepares, completes, and submits all compliance documentation on a routine basis. Coordinates compliance committee meetings.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
    Minimum QualificationsEducation:Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
    Work Experience:Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
    Certifications:---Preferred QualificationsEducation:
    • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, or related field.Experience:
      • Experience working in a university student wellness environment.
      • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
      • Familiarity with accreditation standards such as AAAHC. Knowledge of federal and state regulations relevant to student health and mental health compliance.
      • Minimum 2 - 5 years of project management experience.Preferred Competencies
        • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands and lead complex initiatives across multiple service areas.
        • Strong knowledge of accreditation standards and processes.
        • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills are required, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
        • Must have strong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach to addressing compliance challenges.
        • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
        • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student well-being.
        • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
        • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance tracking systems.Working Conditions
