The Cook prepares wholesome nutritious foods for all diets as well
as functions as a member of an interdisciplinary health care
team.

A. - - - Personal:
1. - - - - - - - - Evidence of good grooming, appropriate manner
and conduct.
2. - - - - - - - - Ability to work effectively with others;
3. - - - - - - - - Integrity, imagination, initiative, energy and
evidence of self-improvement.
4. - - - - - - - - Recognition of civic responsibility.

B. - - - - Professional
1. - - - - - High School diploma with at least two years relevant
experience.
2. - - - - - Must have at least 2 years of relevant kitchen
experience.
3. - - - - - Must be able to do basic math calculations to convert
recipes.

1. - - - - - Evidence of good physical and mental health.
2. - - - - - Physical appearance: Must present a pleasing image to
residents and public and act as an example to employees.

V. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

A. - - - - - A minimum of 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. -
B. - - - - - - Must follow department dress/ appearance code.
C. - - - - - - Participates in orientation and in-services as
required.

VI. - - - - - - - - - - - - -FUNCTIONS:
-
A. - - - - - Carries out the policies and directives issued by the
Food Services Director.
-
B. - - - - - - Prepare all food as planned on the cycle menu
including therapeutic diets.
-
C. - - - - - - Supports and ensures that the objectives of Glenview
Terrace guest relations philosophy are met.
-
D. - - - - - Follow standardized recipes in food preparation to
ensure quality of food prepared.
-
E. - - - - - - Prepare the correct amount of food as designated by
the manager and eliminate waste wherever possible.
-
F. - - - - - - - Label date and store leftovers properly.
-
G. - - - - - Check, clean, and document equipment daily to ensure a
high standard of sanitation. - This includes recording refrigerator
and freezer temperatures.
-
H. - - - - - Assist in receiving and checking of deliveries,
ensuring that products are of a high quality.
-
I. - - - - - - - - - Assist in any cleaning as needed, and must be
able to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

J. - - - - - - - - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Food
Services Director.
