Position Overview The Director, Corporate HR Business Partner is a strategic partner to corporate senior leaders. The successful Director, HR Business Partner will assess and anticipate HR-related needs of client groups by proactively communicating business needs between HR and business leaders and by developing and implementing integrated, innovative people-centric solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to leadership and employees, ultimately upholding and reflecting organizational strategies and goals. Specifically, this role will act at the HR Business Partner to Corporate Functions, including ELT members and their direct reports. This role will have a team of 2 people initially: the HR Managers supporting the Glenview location and the HR Coordinator based in Glenview. Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with the business in developing an understanding of the people and organizational strategy needs to assist in designing and executing solutions in the areas of talent acquisition, change management, organizational design, business process improvement, performance management, and effective communication.
  • Provide coaching on effective leadership behaviors and practices; change leadership and strategies to support employee performance, engagement and retention to promote a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Develop strategies, programs and processes to assess organizational performance including capabilities, practices/processes, structure, role alignment, barriers and opportunities for greater performance.
  • Assist in the deployment of OE and change programs, tools and processes by providing consultation and support to Business Leaders and HR peers.
  • Facilitate and lead transition efforts across the organization to ensure business goals are fully achieved.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Initiate dialog with management, provide advice on issues affecting morale, performance, development, and organization effectiveness, helping to determine root causes, and recommending appropriate next steps
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent and build employer brand.
  • Partner with hiring managers to fill talent needs (in conjunction with TA team).
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Execute annual processes such as Talent Management, Succession Development and Compensation Review Process.
  • Work closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Project oversight of various strategic HR projects and initiatives as determined by the CHRO and Sr. Director of Field HR Operations.
  • Works with broader HR team to design and implement talent analytics and other HR system projects/programs.
  • Manage and lead HR Manager in Glenview and HR Coordinator in Glenview. The ideal candidate will have:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Master's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial or Labor Relations, or Organizational Psychology (preferred)
    • Expertise in county and state employment regulations across assigned territory
    • PHR, SPHR, or Coaching certification (preferred)
    • +5 years of experience as a Human Resources Business Partner, Consultant, Strategist or Specialist including experience with Associate or Employee Relations, Change Leadership, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Talent Management, Organizational Development, Employment Practices, or Employment Law
    • High skill level in the design, development and execution of human resources strategies and practices including talent acquisition, learning and development, succession planning, performance management, and organizational effectiveness/team development.
    • Strategic thinker with strong critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems and make appropriate decisions
    • A proven people leader able to coach, develop, and motivate team, and able to align organizational design as needs change.
    • Experience with organizational development and change strategies to influence and assist organizational change initiatives in a complex environment.
    • Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels within and across the organization by utilizing strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
    • Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
    • Knowledge and understanding of a variety of areas within Human Resources including recruitment, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
    • Able to effectively manage multiple projects and attend to daily HR matters while maintaining focus and follow through on issues until resolved and delivering results as committed.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong business acumen.
