DescriptionWe're seeking a---Systems Engineer, Server Infrastructure---to join our global team, based out of our offices in Glenview or Wood Dale, Illinois USA.
The Systems Engineer maintains and enhances the server systems across 2 data centers in North America and 1 in Europe, to provide 24/7 IT services to our users around the globe. Responsibilities include but are not limited to hypervisor maintenance, new servers and VDI creations on demand, storage monitoring and maintenance, T3 escalation and on-call participation.
The role will take ownership of hosting our business IT services, based on proprietary and off-the-shelf applications, on-premise and cloud enabled.
This role is the go-to expert in vSphere, Windows Server OS (Core and GUI), Active Directory core infrastructure services, across multiple forests.
This person will bring a DevOps mindset and work with focus on identifying and automating repetitive tasks, such as new server and VDI creation, on/off -boarding and role-based access.

---Responsibilities:---
Manage T3 escalations (e.g., technical problems, non-standard
requests)
Communicate clearly and regularly with IT peers to facilitate
workflow and 24x7x365 coverage
Work closely with Network and Security teams to ensure flawless
introduction of services
Train and mentor team members; Ensure team members have the right tools(teach Service Desk staff and peers)
Process improvement and documentation, including Standard
Operating Procedure & KnowledgeBase
Document services: ownership, dependencies, service level
agreements and more
Maintain and monitor vRealize, adjust environment according to
assessments and make recommendations to leadership
Test and verify disaster recovery procedures, including Storage
FlashCopy and startup sequences for DR site.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related technology field or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 5 years in Systems Engineering role
Minimum of 10 years working with Windows Server design,
implementation and maintenance
Minimum of 5 years installing and securing Microsoft SQL server
(Standard and Enterprise)
Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and user
management/provisioning,required expert skills
Familiarity with the advanced principles of ITIL and DevOps
preferred
Technical Certifications (e.g. MCP, VCP) preferred
Experience with Linux,preferred
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks---
Familiarity with service desk tools and procedures preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Frequently required to reach, pull, and/or employ fine motor
skills, lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 20 lbs. while working
with technology equipment
Self-starter, a must
