Senior Data Steward ensures the proper management, use, and
protection of an organization's data assets. He/ she is responsible
for formatting and standardizing data for it to be usable by the
business. He/she will be in charge of implementing functional
objects format, for mapping data into this format, and defining how
data will be visualized. He can also be responsible for one or
several business objects within his/her data domain in terms of its
definition, collection, classification, protection, use and
quality. He/she identifies precisely the data needed for a
functional need alongside the business representatives. Primary
Duties/Responsibilities: Design Functional Objects: Be accountable
for the functional object's identity card (definition, example,
belonging to a data domain, compliance requirements, links to other
BO, etc.). Data Modeling: Ensure that the data modeling of the
functional object is up to date. Data Explainability: Ensure that
the functional object describing a business object is explainable
to everyone in order provide data quality. Data Set Modeling: Be
able to communicate with other members of the management team
regarding data analysis in his/her area. Ensure capacity for
know-how transmission in time regarding his/ her business/
functional objects through sustainable documentation. Data
integration: Responsible for the data life cycle, from creation,
storage, modification, archiving to the deletion of data if
necessary. He/she therefore ensures that the company's databases
are properly organized so that they can be used by the other Data
Management actors. Data Quality: Define data quality rules, monitor
them, and implement action plans to improve data quality. Metadata
Management: As the person accountable for the quality of the data,
manage standard business definitions and metadata of his/her
functional objects in accordance with the Data Owners. Data
Governance: Communicate issues and other relevant information
(e.g., root causes) to other data governance actors who are in a
position to influence remediation. Data Compliance: The data must
be compliant both in terms of the local protection regulations and
the organization's quality standards. Resolve any issue that would
emerge regarding the conformance of data to the local policies over
the lifetime of the data. Data Security: Define access to data for
individual employees, but also reduce security breaches from third
parties. Facilitate the Circulation of Data: support and provide
data expertise for the implementation of data flows and organize
their distribution accordingly. Provide support and business
expertise in all technical matters. Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field is
generally required. Extensive experience (5-7 years or more) in
data management, data governance, and data stewardship roles.
Significant hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud and other
SAP data and analytics tools. Experience in developing and
implementing data governance policies, processes, and standards.
Experience in data modeling, data quality management, and metadata
management. Experience in working with cross-functional teams,
including business analysts, data engineers, and data scientists.
Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance
frameworks, and data quality best practices. Knowledge of data
integration tools and techniques. Excellent analytical and
problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal
skills to collaborate with stakeholders across different business
units. Ability to understand and translate business requirements
into data management solutions. Knowledge of data privacy and
compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is a plus. Certification
in SAP Analytics Cloud or other relevant SAP certifications may be
required or preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Main Skills
Compliance of data with intended uses, in operating procedures,
processes, decision making, and planning. Have a solid
understanding of data management principles, including data
modeling, data quality, data security, data privacy, and data
governance. Perfect/expert know-how of his/her business domain (ex:
water quality, waste collection, accountability, billing,
procurement). Basic understanding of technical matters, such as:
API, Statistics, Analytics ML, Data Base, SQL, BigData, etc.
Know-how in data modeling (ex: be able to read a conceptual data
model). Know-how in data security (ex: access management to the
data). Understanding/basic knowledge of local data protection
regulations. Know-how in data governance: understanding of other
data actor roles in data governance (ex: Data steward, data
architect, data protection manager/officer). Ability to organize
and realize testing processes of functional objects and user
acceptance for his/ her data owner. Understanding/ basic knowledge
of data analytics (Business Intelligence, Data visualization, Data
Science). Know master data management approaches, their
architectures and associated governance. Know-how in metadata
management software, data modeling, database management systems.
Good understanding/ knowledge of local data protection regulations.
