The University of Chicago is seeking a highly experienced Oracle
Fusion ERP PPM Lead with a strong technical background to join its
ITS team. This is a senior role that will serve as the primary
technical resource for supporting and enhancing Oracle Cloud
Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions across diverse
stakeholder groups, including University Research Awards (URA),
Clinical Research Studies (CRS), Capital Projects, and Internal
Awards and Discretionary Funds (IADF). The lead is responsible for
troubleshooting and resolving complex functional and technical
issues, helping to translate stakeholder requirements into system
solutions, and ensuring seamless integration and data flow within
the Oracle Cloud PPM environment. This role collaborates closely
with end users, business analysts, and IT teams to optimize PPM
processes, support system upgrades, and deliver practical solutions
to improve operational efficiency. The PPM Lead proactively
identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, provides
expert guidance and documentation, and supports ongoing training
efforts to empower stakeholders in leveraging Oracle Cloud PPM for
their unique project needs. Responsibilities Leads the end-to-end
implementation, customization, integration, and maintenance of
Oracle Fusion ERP modules (PPM). Serves as the primary point of
contact and subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion ERP across PPM
modules. Designs, develops, and tests innovative configurations and
extensions across Oracle PPM modules as required. Collaborates with
stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes,
and design effective technical solutions. Facilitates workshops,
document requirements, and lead gap analysis sessions to recommend
scalable solutions that support evolving campus needs.
Troubleshoots complex system issues and provides advanced support
for incident resolution, application upgrades, and patch
management. Monitors system performance, conducts root cause
analysis, and implements corrective actions for recurring issues.
Configures and customizes Oracle Cloud PPM modules; manages service
requests and escalations. Mentors team members and stakeholders on
PPM best practices. Leads in the development of new systems,
features, and tools. Solves complex problems and identifies
opportunities for technical improvement and performance
optimization. Reviews and tests code to ensure appropriate
standards are met. Leads or coordinates teams or projects for
activities relating to software support and/or development.
Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university
degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements
include knowledge and skills developed through 7 years of work
experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: Preferred
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in information
technology, computer science, business, or a related field.
Experience: 10 years of progressive ERP experience, including at
least 7 years of hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, with a strong
emphasis on Oracle Fusion Cloud applications. Demonstrated
expertise across both technical and functional domains of Oracle
Fusion ERP, including Financials, Procurement, Supply Chain, and
related modules (including PPM). Familiarity with Oracle Fusion
data architecture, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, Oracle Integration
Cloud), and PPM process and workflow. Proven leadership experience
leading cross-functional teams, delivering complex ERP
implementations, and supporting enterprise-scale environments.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC),
FBDI/ADFDI, and other Oracle tools. Familiarity with regulatory
requirements, financial controls, and audit processes impacting ERP
systems. Track record of delivering successful ERP projects in a
lead or architect role. Background in higher education or nonprofit
environment. Preferred Competencies Exceptional communication and
