Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401K Job Details Responsibilities: As a Permanent Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation. 2. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts. 3. Preparing legal briefs and opinions, and filing appeals in state and federal courts of appeal. 4. Negotiating settlements of civil disputes. 5. Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, legal articles, legal decisions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney. 6. Managing and overseeing paralegals and legal assistants. 7. Advising clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations. 8. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses. Qualifications: 1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. 2. Admitted to the Illinois Bar and in good standing. 3. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Trial Attorney, Civil Litigator, or Junior Associate. 4. Extensive experience in civil law and commercial code. 5. Strong experience in civil practice, including court appearances, motions, briefs, hearings, and depositions. 6. Familiarity with Cook County and Will County court systems. 7. Excellent legal research and writing skills. 8. Strong negotiation and communication skills. 9. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 10. High level of professionalism and confidentiality. Interested in hearing more?
