We are currently looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our team! The qualified individual will be responsible for all activities required for receiving and inspecting incoming shipments according to AKB requirements and standard operating procedures. This position is also responsible for documenting and investigating nonconformances and interfacing with suppliers as necessary to coordinate disposition of product. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and document results using Good Documentation Practices. Ensure expected documentation is received, accurate and meets specification. Conduct inspections and measurements in accordance with drawings, datasheets and AKB requirements. Ensure all incoming material is appropriately documented and received in the company system and transferred to its appropriate storage location per AKB procedures. Perform pre-shipment checks at the vendor site if necessary. Support system side receiving as needed.

  • Control nonconforming product, ensuring it is properly identified and quarantined until final disposition is determined. Prepare and submit nonconforming material reports in the company reporting system and investigate and follow up with appropriate departments to ensure closure.

  • Manage received components for re-shipment to outside processing vendors.

  • Maintain a clean and well-organized area using 5-S principles, monitor and reorder shipping supplies and monitor space for project parts in WIP area.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of receiving, quality control and shipping practices

  • Documentation and organization skills

  • Familiarity with basic inspection tools & gauges

  • An applied understanding of ISO 9001 requirements

  • Knowledge of calibration principles

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Computer literate

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills and able to work with multiple departments

Physical Demands:

  • The position requires physical mobility and must lift, carry and/or move up to 50lbs multiple times daily.

  • The position requires standing for longer periods of time, and a working knowledge in use of sensitive instruments and equipment.

  • The work environment is a warehouse within a manufacturing/mechanical shop facility.

  • Safe operation of all equipment including pallet jacks and fork trucks.
